Lepidochelys olivacea, Cheloniidae, olive ridley sea turtle, marine reptiles, sea turtles, female, behavior, arribada (mass nesting), reproduction, spawn, eggs, laying, nesting, Ostional Wildlife Refuge, Guanacaste, Costa Rica, Pacific Ocean.

Remarks: Instinct leads handicapped sea turtles to lay their eggs on the sand. This olive ridley sea turtle lacked rear flippers, therefore, it was not capable of dig the nest. In this case, the absence of rear flippers may be due to genetic malformation or amputation committed by a predator.
